Transportation
Choose BART’s MacArthur or Rockridge station, both within
several blocks. Main line AC Transit busses to downtown Oakand
and Berkeley and the UC Berkeley campus stop at the door of
Temescal Place. You’ll find easy freeway access just a few blocks
away, leading directly to San Francisco (just across the Bay
Bridge), Walnut Creek, Hayward and points beyond. Street
‘commutes’ to Downtown Oakland, Emeryville and most parts of
Berkeley are hassle-free in 10-15 minutes by car or bike.
Shopping
Some of the Bay Area’s most exciting and dynamic shopping areas
are just minutes away —
• Temescal - eclectic, with neighborhood services just out the door
• Piedmont Ave. & Rockridge, with its famous College Ave.
• Berkeley’s funky Telegraph Ave., Downtown & upscale 4th St.
• Emeryville’s new Bay Street, IKEA and Bay Bridge Center
Fun & Games
All work and no play? No way! You’ll find plenty of sports and
recreational opportunities in the East Bay.
Cultural activities from the Berkeley Rep and the Oakland Ballet
to the touring shows at UC Berkeley and headliner concerts at
the Oakland Coliseum and Arena will be minutes from your front
door at Temescal Place. No need to hassle with the traffic and
parking—you can BARTor bus directly to most of them.
For those seeking a temporary escape from urban life, the Bay
and thousands of acres of parks can be reached in 10 minutes.
Hike through a redwood forest, bike a ridge-top, paddle a canoe
on Lake Merritt, swim in Lake Temescal or sail on the bay.
You’ll be able to enjoy these outdoor activities frequently thanks
to the East Bay’s climate—it is ranked one of the best in the
nation, and is the envy of our fog bound neighbors across the bay.
