Temescal Place, Inc. was created to provide high-quality, livable urban residential environments. Temescal Place developers include long time North Oakland residents Roy Alper, Ron Kriss and Patrick Zimski.
Temescal Place president Roy Alper has years of hands-on experience with a number of alternative energy projects. Projects include ten years as partner at National Power Partners, and as founder and president of the Independent Power Corporation in Oakland, CA. Roy has also served as an advisor to the California Public Utilities Commissioner, advising on alternative energy programs, along with transportation issues surrounding the Bay Area rail and ferry services.
Temescal Place vice president Ron Kriss, has redeveloped more than 150 properties in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties since 1989, in conjunction with his real estate brokerage Lawton Associates, in Berkeley/Oakland, CA. Many of these began as severely distressed single-family homes, but also include commercial buildings, and multi-residential properties. Ron played the lead role in developing the award winning Townhome/lofts at Piedmont Avenue Lofts in Oakland. He continues to be an active force in the real estate brokerage community and is the owner/broker of Lawton Associates. The Lawton Associates team have had continued success with each year showing gains in sales, customer service, and their commitment to outstanding marketing.
Temescal Place secretary/treasurer Patrick Zimski, is a practicing attorney, licensed in both California and Arizona. His practice is primarily in the areas of real estate, construction and representing small businesses. Patrick has been involved in developing residential real estate in California for more than 14 years. He has developed infill properties in San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley. Patrick’s developments include two condominiums in the Duboce Triangle neighborhood of San Francisco, three stand-alone condominiums in the Rockridge district of Oakland, and six condominium/ lofts in the South Shattuck Avenue area of Berkeley. Architect: Thomas Dolan Architecture (TDA)

Thomas Dolan Architecture (TDA) was created in 1985 as a firm devoted to the principals of integrated community interaction. The firm has been a leader in the live/work movement in the Bay Area. The TDA office has grown on the definition and implications of live/work and community and the creative re-use of existing buildings. TDA designs innovative projects, while offering live/work planning, development and code consultation services.
Thomas Dolan worked with the City of Oakland to produce Live/Work in Plain English, an online interactive guide to Oakland’s Live/Work Building Code. Aimed at developers, architects, artists and owners, it guides visitors to the site through the live/work development process from start to finish. Tom has similarly assisted the cities of Emeryville, Berkeley, Richmond, and Sonoma. Holly Cook joined TDA as a Project Manager in 2001. Since then she has worked on the rehabilitation and re-sitting of five historic homes in Hercules, California. She also co-managed a 42-unit affordable housing project in Oakland through the Design Development phase. Currently, Holly is Project Architect on Temescal Place.

Kimes Morris Construction is a rapidly growing construction firm, specializing in the production of high density, mixed-use residential developments, focused in Berkeley and Oakland, California.
