Temescal is a thriving neighborhood offering many basic
services within a short walk from Temescal Place, including laundromat, dry cleaners,
banks, hardware, pharmacy/variety, restaurants/cafes (many), fast food, deli,
convenience store, post office, library, video rental, fitness studio, art
studio, knitting, martial arts, locksmith, photo service, insurance, tax
preparation, wireless telecom, fine candies, veterinarian, ... and on and on. What convenience!
If you work or play in Downtown Oakland, Berkeley
or Emeryville, forget the freeway!

You can drive to most locations
in these areas in about 10 minutes using Telegraph or Shattuck Avenues and cross-town boulevards like 40th
Street.

If you prefer public
transportation, two major bus routes connecting Downtown Oakland and Berkeley
have stops at Temescal Place, and the Telegraph route runs 24/7. Even better, the bus line on Telegraph
Avenue is being upgraded for increased express bus service beginning in 2006
and is slated for a Bus Rapid Transit line in 2008.

a flat run to all the major employment centers in these areas and can zip to
most places in 15 minutes or less.
And the City is currently doing an Environmental Impact Study for the
proposed Telegraph Avenue Bikeway.

Creek?

Freeway on and off ramps are
just a few blocks away and your drives are about 15 minutes in non-rush hour
and about 30 minutes in rush hour.

can walk to the MacArthur BART station in 10 minutes and catch the most frequent service to San Francisco
(averaging less than 5 minutes apart) with a 16-minute ride to Embarcadero.
To Walnut Creek and beyond, you can walk either to MacArthur BART
or a little farther to Rockridge BART, with Walnut Creek just a 17-minute
ride.

Many Oakland commuters to San
Francisco like the AC Transit Trans-Bay express busses and there are two
routes (C and E) just a 10-minute walk away.
The E bus is non-stop to San Francisco from its last stop in the East
Bay, which is the closest to Temescal Place.
